Overlooking the sleepy fishing harbour on the Isle of Mull, Tobermory Distillery produces both an unpeated and a heavily peated spirit with the latter being bottled under the distillery’s original name, Ledaig (pronounced lay-chack). This rich, oily single malt spent its final years in a specially selected rum cask from Diamond Distillery, in Guyana. On the nose its warm vanilla, sweet smoke and orchard fruit. Bursting up front on the palate with a tropical, oily and rich, peat explosion! On the finish we have orange, brown sugar, and lingering tobacco. One of 263btls.
