The Winter Batch 2012 highlights the rich, textural style typical of Daftmill’s winter distillations. Produced during the cooler months of 2012, the spirit develops added weight and pronounced cereal sweetness. A combination of first fill sherry hogsheads and bourbon barrels gives the whisky a layered profile: sherry casks add Christmas cake, dried fruits, oak and winter spices, while the bourbon casks bring barley sugar, buttery shortbread, vanilla and orchard fruits. The result is a round, mouth-coating whisky with a balanced sweetness and spice, finishing warm and lively in true winter character.
For this release, 12 casks have been selected in total:
• 5 First Fill Sherry Hogsheads
• 7 First Fill Bourbon Barrels
All spirit was distilled and filled in Winter 2012, then carefully matured on the estate before being vatted and bottled in
February 2026.
